just picked up this nice 79z28 its a roller was an original 350/4speed car from texas came to michigan 4 years ago,i got this for a price i couldnt resist so this will be my new drag car,pro street build.this car will get my 436 sbc in it with 635hp,680 ft.lbs of torque.its red now has crapy paint job was originally a black z28,i will be painting this cobalt blue metallic candy paint.later i will post all the details of my 436 monster.gonna get a richmond 4speed super 10.

ok heres my 436 sbc thats going in my new z28,has basically 2 hrs on the engine 1 of those was time on the dyno.its making 635hp,680ftlbs.of torque.its a gm 400 chevy block thats bored 40 over,had all cylinder walls sonic checked over.250 thickness some were even more than .300 took me almost 6 months just locating this good block its a 2 bolt main block,with eagle billet splayed 4 bolt caps,line honed the whole works,then i ordered an eagle lightweight forged crank 4.000 inches of stroke internally balanced.then i ordered 6.00 inch kryptonite rods good to 1000 hp and 9,000 rpms.then came the pistons that i custom ordered from mahel there super lightweight also with only 9.5:1 compression.i then called crowler and told them the cam i wanted made on small base circle , its 630 lift with 1.6 scorpion roller rockers,has 112 lsa and 256 duration,im breathing out a set of rhs racing heads,proline elites,full cnc ported wich i also pocket ported to give more torque 200cc and 2.02 valves manly valves and comp cams springs good to .700 lift,titanium retainers,crowler solid roller lifters.this engine makes maximum torque at 4200 rpms wich is 680 ft lbs.makes maximum hp at 5400 rpms wich is 635,im running a team g intake with 1 inch spacer and aed hp holley 750.and kand n extreme air intake.

got some new pictures after i got car home,now i can begin my restoration on it.been trying to find a nice 79 z28 4 speed for awhile now glad i came across this one and it was very good price.

well finally decided to pick me up a like new front bumper cover the one on it is pretty bad shape needed some work,this one just needs cleaned really good and scuffed and primed then its ready for assembly.

finally got my paint kit in,its complete from primer to clearcoat its gonna be painted right cobalt blue metallic,im also gonna paint the engine bay body color instead of the black.want this car to look really good even though its just a drag racer/pro-street build.

i think my next big purchase is gonna be a TKO600,gotta save up a little for that one,but right now im just gonna find a good used st-10 to run in it,hope she holds up long enough to save for my TKO tranny.them borg warner super t-10 are pretty tuff.

i always thought the 79 and 80 camaros got the 85mph speedos,my 79z28 has a 130 mph speedo is that original.

got some work done on my beast today completely sanded down the front bumper cover it needed lots of TLC ,the paint was cracking everywhere so feather edge all the cracking paint was a big job,also sanded my passenger left fender hoping to prime them tomarrow.if the weather holds out and i get enough time still need to fix some areas with poly flex spot putty for flexible bumpers and sand that all flat before i can prime it.was to cold today to apply the poly flex,shooting for tomarrow morning.

got some progress today but not as much as i had planned for took quiet awhile for the plastic filler to harden,but did get all the filler applied and half of it sanded down wasnt warm enough to prime it for sure,maybe tuesday when its warmer,so half my bumper is completely ready for primer.
